Crossing Over (Demo)

The songwriting prompt for this week was to put "Small Light" in the song. And I was inspired to write about an experience I had with my Mother (Cecilia Farran) on my last visit to Wisconsin over Mother's Day.

We honored one ancestor in particular. Her name was Cecilia and she died too young. Age 13 from lung cancer believed to be caused by a horse accident that gave her giant cell sarcoma and caused her leg to be amputated.

I supported my mother in her journey of writing Cecilia's Story and the honoring of her life. She was my Grandmother Rose's Sister and she would have been my Great Aunt.

She was rarely spoken of. So, we visited her grave. We honored her. Remembered her. And supported her in crossing over. Very deep. Very emotional. Very healing.

Thanks for listening. I hope to have a better recording of this in the future.
